ezFractal - Strange Attractors
ezFractal - Strange Attractors is a Chrome extension developed by ezanker. This free program allows users to generate strange attractor fractal images and maps them to sound. With a click of the extension icon, users can search for strange attractor fractals and plot them. The program also features a Play Sound button that generates music based on the attractor. Users can easily generate new attractors by clicking the Next Attractor button. Additionally, there is a gray scale checkbox that allows users to view the attractor in shades of gray.
To regenerate the same attractor at different quality, users can select a new quality from the dropdown and click the Go button. The program also supports the input of 30 character Sprott codes in the specific attractor field. Users can simply copy and paste Sprott codes to generate attractors.
Furthermore, users can click on the generated image to open it in a new tab, where they can print it or save it to disk. It is worth noting that the program no longer requires Flash to play sound, as HTML5 audio is now used.
ezFractal - Strange Attractors is based on the work of Julien C. Sprott, as detailed in his book "Strange Attractors: Creating Patterns in Chaos." The program utilizes the 3D quadratic program, ported to JavaScript, and utilizes the HTML5 canvas object to plot/render the fractal. All processing is done locally on the user's computer. It is recommended to use low to medium quality settings for older or slower machines.
Overall, ezFractal - Strange Attractors is a versatile Chrome extension that allows users to explore and create unique fractal images with accompanying sound.
